Happy New Year!
I hope you’re ready to get 2018 started off on the right foot. And seeing as you are reading this I can assure you that you’re going to have a lot of success this year.
For the inaugural book of this club we will be reading The Death of Ivan Ilyich by Leo Tolstoy. I chose this book for several reasons:
- Tolstoy is one of my favorite authors.
- The book, or rather novella, is just over 100 pages. This makes it more palatable to people who don’t read much.
- It has a lot of lessons to take from it.
- It is free/cheap.
On the latter point, it is available on Amazon for just 99 cents.
There is also a full-text version of the book. The format isn’t perfect, but it’ll do if you can’t spare the 99 cents or you don’t have a Kindle.
As for discussion, I am winging it for the first month. Expect several articles on the subject to keep you occupied. I would also love it if you left comments on this website or hit me up on Twitter. I am also open to suggestions.
I have had a suggestion to create a group chat on Telegram too.
Seeing as it is already January it is time to get started reading! I’m looking forward to our virtual discussions.
