“Hey bro… pssttt… yeah you. Do you juice?”
Years ago if someone in the gym asked you if you juiced they were definitely talking about steroids. Now, many gym goers are much more health conscious as far as diet goes and ‘juicing’ may likely refer to fruits and vegetables.
Okay, I’ve never actually heard anyone in the gym ask if someone juices, but the point is that men are starting to care more about their health and how they feel just as much as how they look. This is the subject of the Fit Juice Trilogy and Juice Power by Mike Cernovich.
Juicing has the incredible power to:
- Improve your complexion
- Increase longevity
- Soothe aching joints
- Prevent a host of diseases and ailments
- Enhance libido and erections
And much, much more…
The best part is that this isn’t some junk pill you’re buying from a factory, rather you’re getting all these benefits from the produce section at your local grocery store.
The Philosophy of Juicing
Juicing fruits and vegetables is one of the best things you can do for your health. To some it may seem time consuming and expensive, but it’s really not when you look at the big picture:
When buying a juicer, keep one thing in mind: Pay now or pay later.
Your health is your best source of wealth. Whatever you spend on a juicer will more than pay for itself on medical bills you’ll incur down the line. You’ll also be more productive at your job. Juicing will make you healthier, wealthier, and wiser. I guarantee it.
There’s a ton of books on juicing. Why should I buy this one?
I’ve seen a ton of those books too. It’s amazing how popular its grown in the last few years.
Yet the reason I never bought those books is because there’s always some 110 lbs. hippy yoga chick on the cover. And because I don’t want to be a 110 lbs. hippy yoga chick I decided not to buy them.
Mike understands completely:
I started Fit Juice because most juicing sites have a New Age feel to them. They talk about the “energies” and “chakras” in juices. Most juice blogs treat juicing as all-or-nothing.”
You will find none of this spiritual mumbo-jumbo in Juice Power—it’s all science. In fact, I would say there is almost too much science in the book, but I suppose he wanted to cover his bases as many people are skeptical of the efficacy of juicing.
This Book Will Save You Money
With the amount of information on what juicers to buy, what produce to buy, cleaning up your juice, recipes etc. you’re going to save a ton of time and money.
For example, if you want to juice more leafy greens then Mike suggests using an Omega brand juicer. He tells you exactly why and which products are best suited for your needs.
A Ton of Tips and Recipes
I couldn’t believe how I had overlooked this:
Pro tip: Use one of your produce bags to line the pulp waste bin. That’s one less piece you have to rinse off.”
If you juice, you know how obnoxious cleaning can be. There are a ton of these little tips throughout, and even seasoned juicers will learn a few things.
I also have to go back to highlight some of the recipes. I’ve always been a carrot and apple guy, because a.) I have a centrifugal juicer (A Breville JE98XL Juice Fountain Plus 850-Watt Juice Extractor to be exact; see NOTES) and b.) I made carrots a staple in my juices to help my acne. In general, I’m getting a little tired of it.
There are a number of traditional fruit and veggie combo recipes in this book, but also recipes like ‘Blueberry Coconut Banana Ice Cream’. Yum.
If you’re a guy that wants to take your health to the next level, then you need to start juicing. And Juice Power and the Fit Juice Trilogy are the best sources to get you there.
The reason I’ve been mentioning two different titles is because there are two. The Fit Juice Trilogy came out a few months back, but I never got around to reviewing it. But it’s now also out on Kindle, and if you have a Kindle (like me) then you may prefer to buy Juice Power on Amazon.
